Our founder Mr. B.L. Agarwal, ventured into an unknown business of acquisition of video copyrights of various Bengali films to fulfil his dream and passion. The distribution network soon spread across the country including metro cities and smaller towns. With the change of time, the business expanded to acquisition of various other rights including video copyrights and he built a strong library of films.
Mr. Sukesh Agarwal, elder son of Mr. B.L. Agarwal joined the business to carry on the legacy and since then, what started as a small venture, has grown into a thriving business, driven by innovation, dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Mr. Sumit Agarwal, younger son of Mr. B.L. Agarwal joined the business with his father and elder brother to continue the legacy and to scale the business to newer heights.
On the occasion of celebrating 100 years of Indian Cinema, Government of India introduced a proposal to select 52 odd Indian films of National and International repute from all regions of the country which will be labelled under the category of Best of Indian Cinema. We take pride and honour that among the very few selected films, four of our films namely ‘Bhalo Theko’, ‘Herbert’, ‘Mahulbanir Sereng’ and ‘Prohor’ were selected and showcased on National television as part of Best of Indian Cinema.
Directed by Arnab Riingo Banerjee, we produced two Bengali films namely ‘Ghuri - The Kite’ starring Joy Sengupta, Aparajita Ghosh Das, Kaushik Ganguly, Rajesh Sharma, Barun Chanda, Kaushik Chakraborty and ‘Ray’ starring Saswata Chatterjee, Tina Mukherjee and Kaushik Chakraborty both of which were officially selected at various International Film Festivals around the globe. Both the films also received certificate of participation from the Hon’ble Embassy of India, Sweden.
Directed by Sankha Banerjee, we produced a women oriented Bengali film ‘Bhrun – The Embryo’ starring Swastika Mukherjee, Shankar Chakraborty, Arunima Ghosh, Debdoot Ghosh, Biswajit Chakraborty and others.
We stepped into Digital world by starting our own Youtube Channel on 09.03.2016. Thereafter, there is no looking back and we started 3 more Youtube channels and made presence on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Bengali Film ‘Ekti Cinemar Gaulpo’ which won 5 National Awards at Bangladesh, was officially imported from Bangladesh and released in India by us. It starred veteran actors Alamgir and Champa along with superstars Arefin Shuvo and Rituparna Sengupta.
Channel B Entertainment was honoured by Youtube with Silver Play Button and Golden Play Button plaques for achieving 1 Lakh and 1 Million valuable subscribers on their respective Youtube channels.
From our catalogue, Ram Mukherjee directed super hit Bengali film ‘Biyer Phool’ starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rani Mukherjee, Indrani Halder, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and music by Jatin Lalit became the first ever Bengali film to cross over 50 Million views on any Bengali movie Youtube channel.
